A mixed development of 27 new houses, 10 flats and 2 retail units together with the restoration of a listed building to form a restaurant and office accommodation on 3 floors.
The site was a brown field site situated in the oldest part of the town. The site has been extremely complex to develop
with many issues to overcome during the enabling and groundworks phase including service diversions, underground obstructions and ground contamination issues.
All properties were constructed on piled foundations due to the nature of the made ground across the site.
The houses are constructed to the code set out for sustainable homes at level 4 & 5 and one property at code level 6 which is one of the first within the South West.
Acheson was the preferred contractor on a negotiated basis.
