At Acheson, we place high importance on the health, safety and welfare of both our employees and others in our various working environments, encouraging a culture that recognises that health and safety are not optional extras. This approach has resulted in an exemplary record and our Certificate of Registration to OHSAS 18001:2007.

We are aware of our legal and moral duties to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees, and of others who may be affected by our operations.

We strive at all times to ensure:

• Safe, healthy working conditions and safe systems of work
• Effective prevention of accidents and work related ill-health
• Adequate control of the risks associated with work activities
• Provision and maintenance of safe plant, machinery, equipment and appliances
• Safe methods for handling materials and substances
• Provision of health and safety information and instruction for employees
• Employee competence through adequate training and suitable supervision
• Employee consultation on matters affecting their health and safety
• Annual policy reviews and revisions, beyond any legislative requirements
