‘’It was a really difficult decision to choose a contractor for this project and we are so glad we chose Acheson, all of you have been brilliant. We are looking forward to the students coming back, there has been a lot of buzz on social media, and I think it is all sinking in that they are getting such a wonderful new sports hall’’.

Dr Amanda Smith, Headteacher

Hancock House, Brewery Square, Dorchester

''It was hugely beneficial to have Acheson heavily involved in the pre planning and pre construction design stages providing sound budget and design advice. They worked well at all levels, demonstrated impressive technical knowledge and were in regular communication with Footstep and the rest of the design team to ensure the project ran as smoothly as possible. Acheson and their subcontractors worked safely and efficiently on a highly constrained site and in particular, as the building is within close proximity to the railway line, satisfied the requirements of Network Rail. The building looks fantastic and fits in well with the neighbouring properties at Brewery Square. It was delivered on budget in a challenging post Covid environment and built to a very high quality with excellent workmanship''.

Charles Wilkinson BSc FRICS, The Footstep Group of Companies

Poole Grammar School

''Since we have engaged Acheson, we have been delighted with the working relationship that has been established.  There are many pressures on construction projects and clients at the current time, and the Acheson project team have been excellent finding a course through that keeps the Sports Hall project on track.  The team have been flexible to offer up practical options and solutions where we have had to value engineer elements because of the project constraints.  The team and their subcontractors have adapted to working safely and effectively on an operational school site''.

Jonathan Stiby, Bursar, Poole Grammar

easyHotel, Oxford

''The defects period has gone very well to the point that we haven’t had a great deal to do! Ultimately, this is down to the quality of the build delivered by your team which has resulted in very few defects to be remedied. Speaking with easyHotel, it is clear that this is one of the very best builds in their portfolio and one that they use as a benchmark against existing and future projects''.

Parley Place Care Home, Dorset

"Given the recent worldwide events and local challenges, these homes are the absolute benchmark of ‘What Good Looks Like’. You have all been a pleasure to work with, your ‘can do’ attitudes, attention to detail and striving to do your very best has been evident to see in both homes. Some of you will recall back in 2020 we held the soft landing meeting on zoom, this is what we have been talking about – you’ve all smashed it...we need to continue raising the bar – remember, you’ve set the standard…".

"Site Manager Andy Holmes, Quantity Surveyor Steve Lawrence and the whole Acheson team worked diligently to manage all trades in terms of quality and timely delivery, they operated an open-door policy answering any questions from our residents building up a strong relationship with the community.

The site team were receptive to change and any complexities faced during the project were met with a professional approach and a proactive, can-do attitude. All Acheson representatives worked in collaboration with Aster and our consultants to ensure the detailed planning and coordination of each phase.

We are very pleased to say that they delivered each element of work ahead of programme and under budget, something we can all be proud of. This is our second project with Acheson and we are very pleased with the results".

Aster Group

easyHotel, Oxford

"When we started on site in Summertown we could hardly have imagined what was in store for us!. Obviously, COVID 19 played its part but so did site contamination and statutory authorities. Because of a truly outstanding collaborative effort we managed to achieve Practical Completion in November last year to a standard that has delighted both the owners and occupiers alike. A true quality product. Without the skill, determination and commerciality of the entire Acheson team this would not have been possible".

Paul Lancaster - 4Urban Consulting Ltd

Dorset Museum, Dorchester

"From the outset, Colin Johnson (Operations Director) and Dan Coniam (Project Manager), with the assistance of their dedicated team (Mark, Tim, Glenn and Suzanne), made every effort to make sure the contract ran as smoothly as possible. Their dedication to the project and to maintaining strict safety and quality control was apparent throughout, and they approached any problems in a diligent and professional manner.

The Museum site was logistically challenging, and every aspect of the programme was planned with meticulous detail. The careful planning and delivery of the demolition, excavation and construction phases was key.

Acheson have helped the Museum to realise a vision that has been many years in the making. I am proud to have been part of such a fantastic, important community project. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Acheson and would have no hesitation in partnering with them again in the future".

"I would like to say thank you for hosting the Construction team last Thursday. This was the team’s 1st visit to our sites and they were impressed with the pride taken in the work and the relationships that we have developed. Acheson’s are dealing with the most constrained, complex and challenging of the sites visited. After visiting 4 sites in the day, and for some this meant over 6 hours in their cars, the mood at the end of the day was one of positivity about what we are accomplishing with partners such as yourselves and what else can be achieved in our region".

Daniel Goodall, Technical Advisor, Sovereign

Aurum Green, Chineham

''They efficiently responded to all queries, and went above and beyond in their efforts to ensure the project would remain on track. Thorough communication at all levels was had throughout the project, to ensure that clear updates were given on progress. The team were faced with numerous challenges, all of which they dealt with in a collaborative, timely and professional manner so that the remaining works were completed to the highest quality. We have been impressed with how Acheson have conducted themselves throughout the works''.

Jack Barclay, Director - PAL Properties

''It was essential that Acheson Construction gained control of the site and establish a programme of works that was achievable and had the “buy in“ from the trades on site to ensure that the remaining properties were completed to the highest quality. All of the team members showed good technical knowledge and expertise, providing regular communication to the Client and residents about upcoming works to minimise disruption, which was greatly appreciated particularly from the new owners. There was excellent teamwork and cooperation at all levels to ensure the delivery of high-quality. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Acheson and working with them on future projects''.

''My wife and I want to express the significant role Andrew has played in managing and executing our snagging works at our home in Aurum Green to a very high standard and customer satisfaction. Andrew has been very detailed, diligent and focused on getting things right to the best quality standards that we would expect at Aurum Green. Our snagging works little over a week ago went off smoothly and effectively - primarily due to Andrew’s guidance and support. He has also been very patient and understanding of our concerns. You have a very valued member of staff in Andrew and we are glad to see Acheson involved in the Aurum Green project''.

''Thank you so much for taking the time to investigate, this is really appreciated. I would just like to say that Aurum Green Aftercare/Acheson Construction has been the most pleasant house builders to work with and the service we have received is outstanding''.

Maddi Mills, Property Manager - Strutt and Parker

Princes Mead School, Winchester

''As the building was constructed on the live school site, the whole team went to great lengths to ensure the safety of our pupils, staff and visitors. The works were carefully planned, programmed and carried out with minimal disruption to the day to day running of the school. The construction team were professional and committed at all times and maintained regular communication with the school to inform us of all upcoming works. They had strict quality control measures in place and communicated throughout with the conservation officer and our professional consultant’s team of architects and engineers so that works to the Grade II listed building were of a high standard. Following handover, the aftercare has been excellent and I would gladly recommend Acheson for future projects''.

Richard White, Bursar - Princes Mead School

''Acheson were appointed to build a new wing to a substantial listed building for an independent school. They were proactive and warm in early interviews, provided a comprehensive and affordable tender return, with their QS being particularly diligent in their cost plan, and subsequently completed the project to a very high standard to the delight of the project team. We appreciated top down involvement throughout from directors and contract management to the site manager. We found their attitude positive and team orientated, and they were keen to avoid combative contractual issues that can occur when complexities arise in the project. I would be very happy to work with them again on future projects''.

Matt Swanton, Partner - Reformat Architects

They worked hard to ensure the highest standard of finish was achieved and have delivered a high-quality showroom and customer environment. They overcame numerous design changes and challenges and worked extremely hard to meet our expectations.''

William Le Fevre, Group Managing Director - William Morgan Group

''We are delighted with what Acheson achieved as main contractor for the major refurbishment of the BMW dealership at North Oxford. The quality of the finished product is self-evident and the client is delighted. We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Acheson through what was a complicated project with the client remaining trading from the site throughout which was possible through phased handovers and working closely with the client to allow this to happen. Glenn Hilton the site manager was extremely proactive and enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the client team on site and Shane Mason was a pragmatic and approachable contact for us at Director level.''
