Kings House, Sherborne International School
We are delighted to bring you some completion photos of the new extension and refurbishment project for Sherborne International School in Dorset.
This exciting contract involved the refurbishment, 1st floor extension and internal alterations to the existing Kings House dormitory block.
Kings House is a modern mixed boarding house for international students. The new extension provides a refreshed and enlarged building with additional dormitory rooms, en-suites, kitchens, toilets, circulation spaces, storage space and plant rooms.
The existing roof coverings were utilised, new internal walls and partitions as well as some new and refurbished doors and ironmongery were included along with new and refurbished external windows, new sanitaryware and mechanical & electrical systems.
The dormitory block is connected to adjacent buildings, and the project was carried out whilst the site was live and in 24 hour operation. This meant that extra careful planning and consideration was necessary to ensure the safety of all pupils, staff and visitors as well as keeping disruption to a minimum.
The team successfully handed over the project in line with the programme.
